Stone carved statues above the back entrance of the Saint Servatius Basilica in Maastricht.
The Saint Servatius Basilica is perhaps the biggest symbol of Maastricht. This catholic church was built in a gothic style back in the year 1000. It's the only church in The Netherlands that was built on the grave of a saint. In this case St Servatius. The church is located in the heart of the city at the famous Vrijthof Square. You can have a look inside every day from 10 to 5. You can also have a look in the treasury room. The church is in the top 100 monuments in the Netherlands on the UNESCO world heritage list.
